Position Summary:
Engineers will work collaboratively across mechanical, electrical, software, hydraulic, and manufacturing disciplines to bring innovative solutions to the rail industry. Full Position Details:
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the design, development, and support of custom machinery and related systems.
- Create and update engineering drawings, models, schematics, or software documentation depending on discipline.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and service—to ensure design intent is met throughout the product lifecycle.
- Assist with prototyping, testing, and validation activities to confirm performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment issues in production or the field.
- Maintain accurate documentation, revision control, and engineering change records.
- Contribute ideas to improve designs, reduce cost, enhance reliability, and streamline production.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Industrial, or related discipline).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation relevant to the discipline.
- Proficiency with engineering tools such as CAD software, programming languages, modeling tools, or circuit design software (depends on specialization).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing or heavy equipment environment.
- Knowledge of industrial machinery, hydraulics, controls, or embedded systems.
- Familiarity with design for manufacturability, product testing, or system integration.
- Hands-on aptitude with tools and equipment used in engineering development.
