Overview

The Nipper Clipper is a dual‑workhead production/maintenance machine designed for efficient application and retraction of Safelok I® and Safelok III® rail clips—no tooling change‑out needed. A single operator can simultaneously apply 2 or 4 clips, improving productivity. Its built‑in third tie‑lifting workhead manages loose ties and ensures safe, precise clip re‑installation, minimizing lost parts and debris risk.

    Features
    • Third 'Nipper' workhead picks up concrete rail
    • Unique retraction tool releases the clip from the socket, retracts the clip, and precisely positions the clip at the end of the socket in preparation for re-installation
    • Exclusive feature prevents clips from being lost and reduces the risk of injury from flying clips
    • Two joystick controls to control each side of the workhead independently
    • Simple adjustments align the workhead to accommodate rail heights and clip extraction distance
    • Workhead design allows the workhead to apply and remove clips with a simple tooling change, a great labor saver for de-stressing operations
    • The MD4 control system can easily be changed from one workhead setup to another. Also used to help troubleshoot machine maintenance issues

    • Onboard electrical system diagnostics to simplify troubleshooting and lessen downtime
    • Remote program updates and remote troubleshooting with built-in telematics allow our technicians to help troubleshoot and lessen downtime (within cell range)
    • Smart hydraulic valves with self-diagnostics and maintenance screens increase flexibility, reliability, and reduce parts inventory by using the same control valve for every function
    • Equipped with a center H-Frame turntable that can rotate the machine 180 degrees in the opposite direction
